This trip was amazing. Everything, from the accomodations to the luggage transfer worked perfectly. The routes were wonderful, especially the part between Westport and Leenane with the amazing mountains around us and the quietness while passing lakes and a Fjord made us love this beautiful country. Thank you for the wonderful trip!

The coastline rides, most restaurants and hotels were to our expectations. The scenery inland was not something I would do again. The landscape inland is littered with dead olive trees and and after 1 day of it, it becomes very repetitive.

Istria to the Adriatic

The local tour operator did a great job. We had our pre-trip meeting via Zoom a few days prior to our trip where Andrej overviewed the trip and answered all of our questions. The nine e-bikes for our group (we paid the small upgrade fee for e-bikes) were delivered to our hotel in Muggia on the second morning of the tour. They also provided chargers, locks, spare tubes, pumps, tire irons, and large Topeak trunk bags with expandable panniers. They were very organized and the equipment was in great condition. We had all installed RideWithGPS on our phones and downloaded the route. The logistics of the trip worked out well.
Why only three stars? The route along the Parenzana rail trail is not very interesting. It does not go through many villages and many parts of the trail consist of coarse and/or loose gravel. The last two days when we left the rail trail and rode along the coast were much more interesting. We have done two other self-guided bike tours with TripSite (Lake Constance and the Camino de Santiago E-Bike Tour) and found them to be much more interesting.

First and foremost, thank you for your patronage and as well, taking the time to provide feedback on your recent bike tour with us. I'm truly sorry to hear the tour did not meet your expectations, and I appreciate the detailed account of the issues you faced.
Interaction with the Owner: We deeply regret that you felt uncomfortable during your interaction with the owner. We have a long standing relationship with this owner, and I've sent hundreds of guests traveling with her, so needless to say I am very surprised there was such an uncomfortable interaction.
Overbooking & Pricing: It's disheartening to hear that you felt the tour was overpriced and overbooked. We strive to provide the best value and experiences for our participants. Note that this tour is structured a bit differently than some of the other tours you have participated in the past, which does account for more costs.
Support Vehicle: The safety of our participants is our Read More top priority. I understand there was some nasty wet weather and the bus was able to bring all the guests to the next hotel. I am not clear on the two emergencies you speak of and will elaborate further with the tour guides.
Meals & Accommodations: We are sorry to hear that our meal offerings and accommodations did not meet your expectations. We strive to provide a balanced mix of local cuisine and comfortable stays, and are re-evaluating based on your feedback.
Luggage Transfer: It's important for our guests to have a seamless experience. I'm glad to hear that, at least towards the end, your luggage was taken to your rooms, but we'll work on ensuring consistent service throughout.
Again, we apologize for the inconveniences you faced and truly hope we can make it up to you in the future.
Warm regards,
Carla

The chosen routes were well done as they minimized interaction with heavy traffic.
The instructions were good but we found we were continually having to stop and flip the page. What would be better is to use something like Ride with Gps that gives verbal instructions and notifies if you take a wrong turn. We stayed at Es Torrents. It was difficult to get a taxi from Campos. As it was our first night we had to stay at hotel for dinner as we didn’t have bikes. We found the food mediocre and very expensive. The hotel also neglected to pass on envelope with maps.all other hotels were excellent. Equipment was good.

Great Trip!
Best part was night at Torre do Río hotel WOW. Second best was boat crossing into Spain. Third best was night at the castle Parador de Baiona.
The trip lost a star because of the death bridge Ponte Effle, the long walk across bridge Ponte Fao and riding in traffic of Vigo and Porto.

Danube Bike Path - Vienna to Budapest
Austria, Hungary, Slovakia
Biking through the countryside of Austria, Slovakia, and Hungary offers an experience you can get no other way. Our group experienced an "insider's view" of these countries, towns and cities you can't get by car. If you want an immersive experience that leaves you fulfilled at the end of the day, biking is the way to go.

I have done a number of European cycle tours. This was different. No other tour combines great cycling and sightseeing with seeing the Big 5 ( We saw 4- couldnt find that leapord) . Cycling was varied, tar, hard sand and some rough stuff. Accommodation was brilliant, again varied ,Game Lodges and a 3 star hotel that should be 5 star.
I'm hopefully going back next year.
I took an E Bike and at 68 years of age it meant I enjoyed it as I`m not as fit as I would like to be.

Lakes of the French Alps
Switzerland, France
I have cycled in many parts of France and this was one of the most beautiful. The tour takes you through vineyards, fields of sunflowers, fields of produce, hilltop villages, castles. We found fabulous coffee stops and great food. We choose the basic hotel package. 2 of the hotels are very basic but the beds were clean and comfortable and the meals provided were excellent. I personally would opt to upgrade next time. This tour has 2 days of hills which were doable and provided fabulous views. You need to be a regular cyclist to enjoy. It was quite something to cycle through these high vineyards and villages. I highly recommend this tour. The bikes were excellent and similar to what we use at home. We had a good hand off.The gps provided stopped working after 2 days but we easily used the ride with gps app that we had downloaded. I would make sure I had this as a backup. A couple of the restaurants and sites were actually closed down so double check before you head out. I love dealing with Tripsite as everyone is so helpful.

The first leg is fantastic. Savor it! Stop at all the bicycle cafes, fruit stands and waysides. Each is unique and delightful. Take a mid morning espresso! With the Dolomites cradling the cycle path, the beauty is breathtaking.

The cycling paths are excellent. We enjoyed the cycling culture, ie cycling cafés along the route, cycling setups at the hotels and knowledgeable hotel staffs.
The hotels were nice expect for the Hotel Dori, it was 2 star at best.
The cycling routing around Riva del Garda and Peschiera along the beach front was not good. We were on a narrow path with pedestrians , strollers, scooters and paddle boarders. This routing requires updating including riding on streets or highways. It would be safer and more efficient.
To discuss the routing issues I’d be happy to talk to you about it, either by phone or email.

We started on a Saturday, and while that wasn't great for some of the restaurants in some Read More towns, it still worked out well for hitting an amazing local products market in Gourdes and in St Remy a couple days later. We still ate amazing food - many many great options in each of the cities you will stay in.

Danube Bike Path - Passau to Vienna
Germany, Austria
The whole course along the Danube (Donau radweg) is amazing! ! One suggestion would be for the GPS to include more tips about the towns! In one occasion (ariving in Grein) the distance did not match becouse our hotel was quite far (around 8km) from the City (route destination) . The overall experience was great as all the three previous tours we did!

Danube Bike Path - Vienna to Budapest
Austria, Hungary, Slovakia
The trip organisation was excellent. The hotels were comfortable and interestingly varied; everything from a pleasant boutique hotel in the centre of an Old Town to a rural hotel with tables and umbrellas on a riverbank in an idyllic setting.
Some of the towns/cities were buzzy and some very sleepy. Additional time - perhaps an additional day - in Vienna and Bratislava would be great, providing rest days and opportunities to explore - and perhaps avoiding some of the quieter destinations.
The cycle trails were, by and large, excellent; some long drags with somewhat uninteresting scenery, but balanced by superb tracks in beautiful countryside.
The bikes were sturdy but heavy and very solid, and this marred the cycling experience somewhat, the most disappointing part of the trip.
Overall definitely four stars.

Great scenery along the water and nice hotels in the towns Really enjoyed the towns we stayed in Bikes were great and comfortable and staff was friendly Too tired to swim but saw many beautiful swimming spots. We did self guided so Got lost a bit and ended up doing 70k all days except 1. Overall fun experience and would recommend seeing Alberobello and Matera while in the south of Italy as a side trip.

Amsterdam to Bruges Bike Tour

A wonderful trip! From arrival in Amsterdam to the end of the trip, the support provided by Tripsite was perfect. Revised bicycles, comfortable hotels and a well-planned itinerary. I recommend renting a GPS, the trails are saved and it makes the trip more peaceful. If possible, go by e-bike, there are so many opportunities to stop for photos and enjoy the beautiful cities along the way that we end up spending a lot of time on the journey.

Denmark’s South Funen Archipelago
Denmark
The accommodations were comfortable and spacious. Breakfast was hearty, healthy and generous — we feasted on rye bread, croissants, hard and soft cheeses, eggs, ham, fresh fruit, fresh vegetables. sausage, yogurt, juice, coffee…every day began with an amazing buffet.
Riding the ferries between islands was fun and an effective way to appreciate the archipelago that makes up Funen. We saw some magnificent sailing ships hailing from Germany, Netherlands, Sweden and of course Denmark. People were warm and friendly.
Our luggage was Read More transported as promised and delivered promptly to our hotel. That’s a big bonus when you’re wanting to shower before dinner. The routes were an appropriate length — leisurely completed in 4-6 hours with time to spare for a picnic lunch or visiting a local attraction.
This was our sixth self-guided tour with TripSite. As with previous tours, we like to use our mobile phones for real-time GPS guidance. We downloaded the BikeGPX tracks provided by the vendor. In several cases, we discovered that the tracks did not correspond to reality. The preprogrammed routes are extremely useful. But only if they are accurate. One time we were directed across a soft, sandy beach that was not appropriate for cycling; another time we were directed to ride across a golf course fairway where clearly no bike path existed. And another day we just disregarded the suggested route because we weren’t provided with enough time and information to catch the ferry.
And that brings to mind another item that might benefit from attention: the e-bikes we were assigned had slick tires and a heavy frame. They were great for cycling on asphalt or packed gravel. They carried our loaded panniers easily. But some portions of the route took us out on sandy spits. Or on single track through overgrown pastures. We thought it would have been better to plan the route keeping in mind the bike’s capabilities.
We give this trip a four-star rating because of the bike-track issues. If the bike tracks are fixed we would enthusiastically rate this trip a five-star experience.
Denmark is spectacularly beautiful. Cities and rural areas are clean and well-cared for. The citizens have a commitment to green and sustainable energy. We are looking forward to returning someday.

The B& B was very comfortable, good service and in a great location, the routes were also very scenic.
The main problem was the quality of the bike that was below average. The regular bike were essentially city bikes with technical problems and uncomfortable.

The scenery was so beautiful and all the hotels were very nice. The signage around the lake was confusing at times. There should be an option, for an extra fee, to have quality helmets provided along with having bikes delivered and picked up at hotels at beginning and end of tour.
