There were multiple issues with one of the bicycles including brakes that needed adjusting and a seat post bolt that needed replacing. We rode in mostly rainy conditions and had to stop and buy chain oil to clean the chain. Both issues could have been alleviated by a thorough check of the bike and providing chain oil and rags to keep the bikes clean. And, these deficiencies made for a painful ride and significantly detracted from the joy of the trip.
It would have been helpful to receive the Ride With GPS routes via email earlier. We spent an hour or more a day trying to match the written description of highlights of the route with their location on the GPS route. We linked the highlighted site with Read More the mileage and wrote out our own itinerary. Additionally, the written information should be rewritten by a person who is a native speaker, who can write direct sentences and use essential English grammar.

Hi Janet, thank you for your detailed feedback. We're pleased you enjoyed the scenic route and cultural highlights, but we're sorry to hear about the issues with the bike and route materials. We'll definitely work on improving these aspects for future trips. We hope to provide you with a smoother and more enjoyable experience on your next trip!

Our group was comprised of 13 participants, 1 guide, and one support vehicle driver.
Unfortunately, there was flooding in central Europe during our stay. Several of the bike routes were closed but our guide made the best out of detours and rerouting due to flooding.
However, the bikes were poorly maintained. According to the guide the company AVE was not expecting ALL participants to choose E-bikes (Even though 70% of participants had booked in February and June) Thus, there was a shortage, and the company had to borrow e-bikes from other sources. Consequently, there were at least 4 different e-bike makes/models where parts could not be interchanged. Bike chains jumping off the gear occurred routinely 4-5 bikes a day. Some e-bikes had major gear shifting problems and other performance issues. Our guide and driver did an incredible job keeping us all "in the saddle" , bike saddle Read More that is.... :)
We had opted for the hotel accommodation upgrade. The first and last hotel were meeting our expectations, but the other three hotel stays were disappointing. I would recommend using the regular accommodations.
The hotel “Clement” in Prague was excellent, the breakfast choices too numerous to list, and the location was ten minutes to the Old Town.
Near the hotel is the restaurant “Usadlu”, where the majority of patrons are locals. We had an unforgettable meal in the “Dungeon” , about 2 floors below ground in this venue!
One Tip: If you are 65 or older you get to use all public transportation in Prague free of charge.
The Vienna Hotel was centrally located: 3-4 Metro stations from the Karl's Platz and Stefan's Platz.
The city was easily negotiated by walking everywhere.
Despite the bike problems, we had a wonderful time and would like to do another bike tour!
It was an incredible experience!!

Hi Doris, thank you for your review! We're glad to hear you had a wonderful time despite the challenges with the bikes. We apologize for the maintenance issues and the shortage of e-bikes, and we’re committed to improving this in the future. Hope to see you on another bike tour soon!

We enjoyed the whole experience! At the end of day 1 my wife said I could do this again - that didn’t change. Our group leaders (and support team) had to manage the impact of flooding and gave us a memorable experience - they couldn’t have tried harder. E-bikes made it accessible for less experienced or older riders but it still requires many hours in the saddle. Don’t expect to lose much weight as the food was plentiful and excellent. The WhatsApp group created for us made it easy to keep in contact. We are so pleased to have picked this tour!

Make sure you don't get booked on s boat as a hotel, dirty and bugs. They say gravel bikes but they are not. They do not send a mechanic to set up bike, just a tour guide who knows nothing. Bike was dirty and needed oiling. They said safety checked but found issues when given the bike. If traveling in pairs they only give you one copy even though you paid full price for both. They also only give one lock when we were told each would get one. Printed map and instructions not accurate. No instructions to specific hotels. Breakfast and luggage pick up times do not align.

The TripSite team took care of all the details, was responsive to questions, and made our trip easy and worry free. Prague to Dresden was our second trip and we hope to book many more. We select the upgraded hotels and add on extra nights for an even better experience. The new navigation app made biking even easier. Advice to bikers: do your homework on the suggested side trips - some were nothing burgers but a couple were spectacular and worth the time.

A couple things I'd like to mention. The Trip site partners were very friendly and for the most part very responsive. Sometimes there was a language challenge, but we got through it. We upgraded to the Superior Hotel category and glad we did because we can't imagine what the lower category would have gotten us. With that said, the first hotel: Schlosspark in Karlovy Vary was very dated and in 1 of the 2 rooms, the air conditioning was not working properly and it was very warm on our first night. We mentioned to the front desk and were told a technician would come by. Read More By the time we returned after dinner, the room was still very hot and we mentioned again but were told there was nothing they could do. I then reached out to our Trip Site partners and they said they would speak with the hotel. The hotel offered another room but it too had no a/c. We were promised an upgraded room the next night. I ended up putting my mattress on the floor of the room my sister & cousin were in to be able to get a comfortable night sleep before our first day of cycling. As far as the "upgraded" room...it was equally dated and had a tub instead of a shower but it did have it's own mini-split for a/c.
Our riding that day was greeted with perfect weather and we had a picnic lunch at what looked like a castle. We also passed a nice covered bridge along the route. The one thing we definitely wish we had known and been advised of is that the only place in the Spa Triangle with Thermal spas is Karlovy Vary. The other towns you will stay/visit do not offer the thermal baths. Unfortunately, we didn't find this out until we were at the next town. The town itself is lively and we happened to be there at the time of a music and wine festival and lucked out with all the music in and around the town.
The next town of Frantiskovy Lazne was all painted in yellow and we stayed at the Spa & Kur Hotel Harvey which was by far the best hotel of the 3. It was the most modern and best breakfast spread. Although, don't get spa services here, they were disappointing...lots of oil being rubbed all over and nothing more. The town is sleepy but beautiful. There are lots of green parks in this town as well. Our rides from this town included stopping at Soos, a nature preserve to see natural springs. On our final day here, we biked out through the town of Cheb which was lovely and then had another picnic lunch at a church stop that had picnic tables. We also saw a herd of elk and ram along this route which was a wonderful surprise.
Our last town, Marianske Lazne was hilly. We stayed at the Gourmet Hotel Villa Patriot which was again dated and beware, has no a/c. Fortunately, it had cooled off a bit by this point and having the windows open to sleep was sufficient. This town is known for its singing fountain which was under construction while we were there. Our last day of riding, 2 of us took the ski lift to the top of the hill - acoustic bikes and 2 electric bikes climbed the giant hill (electric can't use the ski lift). We then stopped at the monastery in Tepla and finished in Becov where we took the train back to Marianske Lazne. By this day, we were all tired and wanted a shorter ride.
***there were 2 times when we were faced with a detour on our route. We reached out to the team and they helped us navigate back on course. They were very responsive both times. Just to let you know the route may not always be the route, but no need to worry, the team is there for you.
We started this journey 1.5 days early in Prague and ended in Prague for 1 day before heading home. If you have the time, I'd recommend this option, which we secured for ourselves. Trip site partners were very accommodating in picking us up at our hotel in Prague and dropping us off at our hotel in Prague. We made our own way to/from the airport.
I would use Tripsite again for booking another vacation!

Had a wonderful time on the bike trip, it was an excellent way to see the countryside and small towns along the way. The hotels were very nice, right in the center of things. We would certainly do this trip again.
The only issues we had were occasional navigational problems, particularly on the first day, but for the most part the route was easy to follow on dedicated bike paths. Having a data plan for Europe is a must as that can solve a lot of navigation issues.
Overall this was an outstanding experience for us, and it is an excellent way to travel and really get to know the local area.

I enjoyed all of the villages/cities I stopped in and the lodgings were excellent. My pannier was broken and it was replaced right away which was much appreciated. Several of the GPS maps had sections which did not accurately reflect the route or were confusing. One route did not indicate that a very large road construction project was in progress and it took me an hour to figure out how to get back on track. Parts of the routes were marked as unpaved and while true, several miles of the unpaved roads were difficult to navigate. That being said, I always was able to find my final destination.

First, we had good support in the lead up to our tour and during it. All of our questions were promptly answered, both before we made reservations and when a few issues arose during the tour.
Second, the tour was very well organised. We had a detailed briefing and support before we started. Clear group communication was set up on WhatsApp among our group and with the tour’s support team. We were given maps and written guides for the ride each day, which pointed to tourist highlights and places to eat. Our rides were guided by Ride with GPS on our phones (bring a lithium battery to extend your phone’s life each day). Each bike had a phone mount to facilitate the use of Ride with GPS. The bikes and equipment were very good quality. We never worried about a breakdown. We were quickly back Read More on the road after a punctured tire because we had the right tools for the job. In short, we never felt like we were on our own, even though we had no guide on the road.
Third, we found the daily routes, and options, to be outstanding. Each daily destination was a notable place to visit. We rode mainly along roads, and also on paved cycle paths, gravel and, at times, trails. My partner and I chose the extra distance routes whenever they were available, whereas the other couple on our tour selected the shorter options that catered to their interests. This is a tour for experienced cyclists with a good level of fitness, not novices or casual tourists.
Fourth, the accommodation was very good. We chose the upgraded facilities and were happy with all of them. Each day, they were close to the main historical or cultural sites. We could easily visit them, usually by walking or riding up to the castle at Vranov and Dyji.
We were very fortunate that we had very good weather. It only rained briefly on two days. I suspect that the riding would have been fine if it was wet, except for a few short stretches when we encountered rough cobbles or when we rode on short trails that linked roads or riding paths. We were well prepared for wet weather and would not have been challenged had it rained.
If we had to do it over again, then we make a few changes. We would use TripSite partner hotels before and after the tour. This would facilitate early briefing before we started the tour and easier hand-over of bikes when we were finished. We had planned to use .GPX files on our Garmin GPS units. Unfortunately, we didn’t download local maps onto our GPS units before we travelled, so that wasn’t feasible. We rented road bikes because that’s what we ride at home. There were places when a gravel bike would have been a better choice. One member of our group rode an e-bike. This made the rides less physically demanding.

This was our 3rd trip like this and by far the best! It was a wonderfully well organized trip. We went with our children (3 and 11) and two of our friends in their 50s. Everyone have a great time. The distances and difficulties were doable. The towns were beautiful and interesting. And the routes provided a good variation of scenery. The non-biking days were well placed throughout the tour. Finally, the trip organizers were amazingly supportive when we had questions or needed to make adjustments. I can't recommend this trip enough!

I did the Prague-Vienna Greenways 7-day guided tour with a group of 30 friends. We were on a variety of bikes (road, hybrid, & e-bikes). Vitek and his team made this adventure go as smoothly as possible. They were extremely accommodating, helpful, and fun. They offered much more than I was expecting, including meal option planning, hotel check-in, en route snacks/drinks, and language interpretation when needed. All of that made things much more streamlined for us, given the large group size. The route was wonderful, with a wide variety of scenery and riding surfaces. Vitek is very knowledgeable about the culture and history of Czech, so we were able to learn a lot while enjoying the ride. This was such an amazing trip, and I would highly recommend it to anybody wanting to do an adventure like this.

We really enjoyed this well set up tour through beautiful countryside with a carefully planned route. The maps and suggestions left time to explore and Lukas' team were easy to contact when a glitch occurred and was rapidly fixed. The accommodation was delightful and the bikes were perfect for the route (light enough frame to lift over kerbs, good range of gears). The route was mixed but mostly countryside. After the first day hill the route was mostly flat and presented no problems for us (we are 70/72) and we spent lots of time stopping for flowers, photographs and beer. We have used Tripsite before but this is now my favourite tour.

The cycle tour in Prague , just the 2 of us and our guide Ivo. Starting on Sunday morning at 8.30 am, hardly any tourists around and we cycled all around with stops for explanations and photo”s and a beer of course ! A great 3 1/2 hours !
We really enjoyed cycling to Hrensko and onto Tri prameny and walking up to Pravcicka Brana natural Bridge. although nature was scarred by the forest fires last year, it was still a great walk with amazing views.

The scenery was great. The other riders in our group coupled with the ride was memorable. Tip: next time I will bring shirts from Goodwill, wear them, then donate them in whatever city we are in. That way I won't have smelly shirts in my luggage and more room for souvenirs.
