The Sundial is a standard class Turkish Caique, constructed of pine and mahogany in the Vedat Sungul Shipyard in Bodrum, Turkey, using the ancient art of Turkish shipbuilding still in use. The boat has a spacious dinette, large solarium with comfortable beach mattresses, and on the stern deck, a wide and elegant lounge.

Turkish caiques are constructed of solid wood and differ from the "gulet" in that the foremast is higher than the stern. The solid structure in pine and mahogany woods makes the navigation comfortable.

Outlets/voltage: 220V. During overnights in harbor, electricity on board is always available. During the night in roadstead, the power generator is turned off late in the evening in order to grant a quiet rest to clients on board.

*Air conditioning cannot be granted 24/7, especially during the night. Air conditioning is not available when the Caique is moored in roadstead and cannot be regulated from the cabins.
Food & Beverages

Catering on board is an excellent combination of fresh seafood and vegetables, pasta and meat, seasoned with Mediterranean herbs.
Water: water from the tap is not drinkable. 1/2 liter bottle of water is provided for lunch and water in a jug for dinner is included in the tour price. Additional water bottles can be purchased on board.

It was an excellent tour. It was a beautiful boat and the 3 staff were family comprising of the Captain,the chef and the onboard person who worked tirelessly to ensure we had the best trip. They were all wonderful and the food was sensational. Our guide Jochin was brilliant. He had a gentle manner and a good communicator. His knowledge of all the places we went to was excellent and he planned our daily trips with care and thoughtfulness. Nothing was too much trouble. It was a good group and a great bond between clients and staff.

This was our fifth bike and boat trip in Europe and was by far the best one yet! The captain Salvatore, first mate Angelo, and chef Vanessa are the boat owners, and took great pride in making this an unforgettable adventure. The Sundial is a very comfortable and clean boat, our room and private bath had lots of space for clothing, suitcases and all essentials. Bed and pillows comfortable. Air conditioning was kept on until midnight, so we kept windows open and fan on throughout the night so that it didn't get hot after AC was turned off (we went in mid/late September so the night temps were pleasant). There is good space on the boat for lounging after biking, either in sun or shade. Each day after biking the captain found a place to anchor so we could swim. The food was phenomenal, with a variety of seafood, pasta, cured meats, cheeses, breads, desserts, etc. There were always baskets of chocolates in the dining area for us to enjoy anytime. Our tour aboard the Sundial was fantastic. In addition to the gorgeous setting and the wonderful boat, what really made our trip special was the crew, a family operation. They were pleasant, interactive, hard working, and professional, all while making an extra effort to make our trip smooth and enjoyable. In addition, the food was excellent, with lots of seafood prepared differently each night. With only six couples on board, it was an intimate, fun atmosphere. My only suggestion would be for Tripsite, not the crew, and that would be to more accurately represent the difficulty of the riding. For my age, I am a relatively strong cyclist so I originally selected a conventional bike. Fortunately, during the bike fitting before leaving port, Angelo, the first mate, gave us an accurate description of the rides (many kilometers of 6% grade, etc.) and encouraged us to select a bike that would make the rides enjoyable, not a torturous workout. Because of that I switched to an e-bike, and I am very glad I did— I would have been miserable and not able to enjoy the beauty of the islands.

This was the first trip to Europe for my daughter and myself. It turned out to be a wonderful college graduation present for her, and a great way to dive into retirement for me. The company was excellent and varied. Our guide was very knowledgeable and accommodating. The food and staff was excellent. I hope I will get a chance to do this again with the rest of my family.
