Overview
The De Nassau has two deck levels. The barge boasts a large salon with large panoramic windows on the upper deck that includes the restaurant, bar, and a lounge area. Wi-Fi is available. On the partially roofed sun deck, chairs and sun loungers invite you to relax and enjoy the scenery while sailing. Bicycles will be stored on a separate part of the sun deck.

Total cabins: 34
Lower deck: 22 total cabins with private bath and window that can be opened.

14 regular twin cabins, located in the middle and the back of the ship, approx. 10 m² two single side by side twin beds measuring 200 x 80 cm).
1 triple cabin (third bed is a bunk bed)
8 superior twin cabins, located in the front of the ship, measuring 9.5 - 11.5 m². Beds are set up as European hotel style, in that two mattresses are together as a double bed, and measure 200 x 160 m. On previous request, these mattresses can be made up as two separate beds. The superior twin cabins are the newly renovated cabins.

Upper deck: 12 cabins total with private bath and window that can be opened

Bicycle rental is included in tour pricing but is optional. Guests are also allowed to bring their own bicycles (discount will apply). However, the crew or tour operators are NOT responsible for any damage, loss, or theft of such. In the Netherlands and Belgium, cyclists are not obligated by law to wear a bike helmet. There are bike helmets available onboard at no charge but please request them when booking.

*NOTE: E-bikes feature a small electrical engine and battery that assist and ease your pedaling but you still have to pedal yourself. While riding an e-bike can greatly contribute to the enjoyment of your trip, it is not intended for untrained cyclists as it is not easy to handle such a bike. The engine and battery make the bike much heavier than a regular bike and it also accelerates faster. Handling it well requires good basic cycling skills and confidence.
Other bikes (e.g. bikes with back pedal brakes, children’s bikes, “slip streamers”, tandems, etc.) and child seats (rear) may be possible upon request and are in very limited numbers.

We loved the small ancient towns on the route. Walls and moats make for a most interesting experience. Ingrid was exceptional. We learned a ton about the country every time we were able to spend time with her.

We really liked exploring the old towns in the NL while biking but wished there was more time to do so as there were so many interesting things to see. Having some additional information on each was nice.
The staff were extremely helpful and friendly and we enjoyed their kindness and willingness to serve & make our trip comfortable & enjoyable. (Thanks to Jeremal, Christina, John, Stani and the other deck hands.) The beds and rooms were comfortable and the dining room/bar were well appointed. The food at dinner was excellent but the quantity was not enough for the ‘bigger’ eaters in our group.
We found the distance to bike on some days was more than we wanted and had hoped we could have options to go off or on the boat part way. (Though having the opportunity to change to an ebike helped…thank you John!.)
We were disappointed that we could not purchase any snacks in the evening and that the only ones provided during teatime were sweets. Then Read More

Cycling through the farms and along the rivers and canals was beautiful. The villages were historic and lovely. More recommendations of sights along the way would have been helpful.

Thé bike trails so well marked. Ride with GPS so helpful .Frans was skillled with all the languages he mastered or attempted. His. Ride descriptions were accurate and he showed up along the way to give encouragement.
On the De Nassau get blinds for the windows in the dining hall. My table was in the sun and uncomfortably hot every evening at dinner.

All biking levels will have a blast on this trip - the routes and system in the Netherlands are so user friendly - and each day is spent biking through countrysides and historic small towns - a dream! The guides, crew, and staff were all so kind and lovely. Highly recommend!

Holland was on my bucket list to visit the country I was born in but left as a young girl. What better way to see it than on this wonderful barge/bike tour with a good friend. Upon arrival where the De Nassau’s docked we were greeted by our wonderful hosts and crew. There is absolutely nothing that I can criticize about this trip. The food, the accommodations and the beauty of biking through northern holland on my E Bike was amazing. I highly recommend these bikes as I usually don’t bike 186 miles in 7 days, but they sure help put “ the wind beneath my wings”. I even bought a smoked eel which we shared with some companions we biked with...not usual Canadian fare! Tripsite has opened up a whole new concept for me and my love of travelling. Perhaps Ireland, France, Portugal...I can hardly wait till the next trip I take knowing that I will not be disappointed. Thanks Tripsite for making my dream come true of visiting this amazing country.
