The Czech Republic is known for its beer, natural springs, and of course the gorgeous capital of Prague (known as the "City of a Hundred Spires"). The city also saw little destruction during WWII and is thus very well preserved with all kinds of architecture: Baroque, Gothic, Renaissance, Romanesque, Classicism, Art-Nouveau, Cubism, Functionalism and some of the Communist era as well. In addition to the Czech's love of ice hockey and tennis, there is much biking and hiking to be done. You could easily lose yourself here in this Bohemian paradise exploring the lush countryside, ancient forests, castles (± 2000!), mountains, rivers, and lakes. The Elbe River and its meandering riverside paths rival the Danube's for biking and hiking!
