Sample activities
Itineraries vary depending on which season you would like to go in and what activities you would like to do. Please let us know what activities you would like to include and we can tailor something just for you!
The best time to hike and walk in Lofoten is between June to the end of September, due to the milder weather and exposed trails after the winter snowfall.
Depending on your experience and fitness level, a variety of hiking trails are on offer; from easy hour-long hikes to challenging trails that can last all day. The archipelago of Lofoten in Norway is home to some incredible hikes that take you from the rocky shoreline up through birch and pine forests before emerging onto the open slopes. These routes lead you to summits with breathtaking panoramas of the fjords below, stretching as far as the open sea beyond. Hiring an expert mountain guide is recommended in order to get the most out of the experience. Not only do they know the trails like the back of their hands, they provide expert knowledge of the surrounding region.
All the hikes are weather-dependent and subject to change. There are many other activities possible, including fishing trips, coastal exploration in the tender, and paddleboarding. The itinerary is very flexible and guests are more than welcome to stay on board if they decide not to go walking.
The Lofoten Archipelago is the perfect playground for a family vacation. Consisting of seven main islands, with fjords and narrow straits between the fjords, surrounded by spectacular scenery, the activities on offer are designed to ensure you explore this region to the fullest. You can head out on kayaks for a half or full-day adventure among the countless bays and islets; perfect for beginner and experienced paddlers alike. You can also head out onto one of the many mountain biking and hiking trails, or spend the day relaxing at a Nordic hot tub or sauna before paddleboarding the still waters. Depending on the season, there is also horseriding on Icelandic ponies, skiing, fishing, golfing, and surfing. There is something for everyone in Lofoten.
For those who are mountain bike aficionados, the mountains surrounding the Lofoten are home to some of the best singletracks in the world. Long scenic ascents are rewarded with fast-flowing, loamy trails that descend through ancient forests, steep technical slab rock glistens above the treeline, and endless views with no one around at the top of every peak. Our expertly crafted MTB tour in Lofoten covers the archipelago's finest trails. Speed through flowing sections and conquer challenging, technical terrain. Trails where the thrill meets the rugged beauty of Lofoten.

Extra Info
Skill Level — Moderate
The difficulty level of this tour will depend 100% on you and your fellow travelers. We can assist you in tailoring an active vacation from family-friendly to extreme and technical. You decide! Choose from many activities for a multi-adventure experience or focus on just one or two. For the shorter Northern Lights Cruise, it is all about ‘hygge’ which needs to be experienced before it is truly understood. Picture star gazing, and the swirling Northern Lights, far from any light pollution. Imagine your family and friends in the cozy warmth of the dining area, eating Lutefisk, a local delicacy served at Christmas time and washed down with a glass of local Aquavit. Nothing difficult here!
Airport Info
The tour starts in Henningsvær. The nearest airport is Svolvær (SVJ). If you wish to depart by Leknes Airport, this is also possible. We recommend that you do not use Narvik Airport, Evenes as this is approx.4-5 hours drive from Henningsvær and we will not assist with transfers to/from this airport to the boat. Scheduled services are provided domestically to and from Oslo, Bergen, and Trondheim which may serve as connecting stops depending on the airline you choose. There are also direct flights from Amsterdam and many transoceanic flights will connect here.
Local Travel
Your tour includes an arrival airport transfer from Svolvær Airport. Please provide us with your flight details. On the last day, there are regular buses from Henningsvær to Svolvær. Travel time is approximately 45 minutes. Taxis are available outside the terminal, as well.
Climate
The climate of Svolvær is best described as oceanic. Located on the west coast of Norway, it is an area heavily influenced by ocean currents, so it is relatively mild in winter, at least considering the latitude, while it is cool in summer. Temperate waters and the unique microclimate warmed by the Gulf Stream, allow for a myriad of adventures and activities! This is a destination in which it is best to layer and don’t forget your raingear.
Remarks
There are steep stairs down to the cabins making the yacht potentially unsuitable for smaller children and people with mobility issues.
