Hike to the phenomenal highlands of Korea on this once-in-a-lifetime scenic adventure, exploring Bukhansan National Park's serene landscapes of pine forests, Buddhist temples, natural sanctuaries, and atmospheric mountainsides high above the city of Seoul.
It is here, in the highest reaches of this phenomenal country, that much of Korea’s history, customs, and folklore grew. This hike is a journey into this precious heritage, delicately uncovering the Korean culture at its most authentic, as it is found in this wild, wondrous location.
Ascend a majestic mountainside through fragrant pine forests, absorbing truly spectacular views every step of the way. As you climb higher into the rugged nooks, you’ll hear from your guide about the history surrounding this area of Seoul.
Behold the serene, immaculate beauty of ornate Buddhist temples, including the Guknyeongsa Temple with its famous 80-foot tall Golden Buddha statue. Listen to the legends of famous monks, of peaks and valleys haunted by ghostly entities, and learn of the shamanic traditions that keep the mountain spirits appeased.
After your awe-inspiring adventure, you’ll relax on the ruggedly beautiful mountainside for an unforgettable part of the Korean hiking experience - the post-hike meal, known as ‘hasanju’ (‘descent alcohol’). Using a taxi at this hour will always get you stuck in traffic by 1-2 hours from anywhere in the city.
