Today is the first day of riding. After the bike fitting, you will cycle to Jungnokwon and visit the Junknokwon garden, featuring a beautiful artificial waterfall, pavilion, walking paths and an eco exhibition center, a popular destination for visitors. The Yeongsangang River will be your companion as you continue along the dedicated bike path. Lunch today will be delicious Galbitang. Galbitang is a variety of Korean soup, made primarily from beef short ribs along with stewing beef, onions, and other ingredients. The short ribs, or "galbi" also refers to grilled short ribs in Korean barbecue while the suffix tang is another name for guk. Hence, the Korean name literally means "short ribs soup". You will arrive to Naju in the afternoon with plenty of time for sight-seeing before another delicious meal.Day 3 : Naju - Mokpo, 49 miles (79 km)
After leaving Naju, you will make a visit to the Image Theme Park. Naju Image Theme Park is a place where many scenes of Buyeo Kingdom, including Buyeogung Palace, were filmed for ‘Jumong,’ a hit drama that was recently televised. Built on a 450,000-pyeong site, the large-scale set cost over 18 billion won to create. Again today, you will cycle along the Yeongsangang River bike path. Eventually, you will reach Hoesan White Lotus Pond. This pond, known as ‘Hoesan Baengnyeonji’ in Korean, is the largest habitat of white lotus in Asia, covering an area of approximately 330,000 square meters. The white lotus flowers in this pond continuously blossom and fall from July until September. A lotus festival is held in August, when the flowers are at their peak. Today's destination is Mokpo.Day 4 : Mokpo - Jeju Harbor - Jungmun Area, 8 or 15 miles (12 or 24 km)
This morning, the group will take a ferry from Mokpo to Jeju. Breakfast and lunch will be enjoyed on the ferry (not included). From Unjin harbor, you will begin your bike tour to the hotel in Jungmun.Day 5 : Halla Mountain
Today is a special day. You will be transported to the entrance of Halla Mountain National Park. Via the Youngsil Hiking Course, you will climb to the top. Hallasan (Halla Mountain) rises up proudly from the center of Jeju Island and is perhaps one of the island’s most memorable landmarks. Also called Mt. Yeongjusan, meaning ‘mountain high enough to pull the galaxy,’ Mt. Hallasan is widely acknowledged by scholars for its research value. Designated as a National Park in 1970, there are 368 parasitic mountains called ‘Oreums’ (peaks) around Halla Mountain. Mt. Halla is famous for its vertical ecosystem of plants that results from the varying temperatures along the mountainside. Over 1,800 kinds of plants and 4,000 species of animals (3,300 species of insects) have been identified; to explore the mountain's treasures, simply follow one of the well-developed mountain hiking trails. If time allows, you can make an option visit the some Hot Springs.Day 6 : Jungmum Area - Pyeoseon, 47 miles (75 km)
Today you will ride along the Jeju island bike path. Eventually, you will come to the Jusangjeolli Cliff along the Jungmun Daepo Coast. The Jusangjeolli was formed when the lava from Mt. Hallasan erupted into the sea of Jungmun. They are rock pillars shaped like cubes or hexagons of various sizes and almost seem as if stone masons had carved them out. Later on you will make a stop at Yakcheonsa Temple, a structure reminiscent of that of the Buddhist temples of the early Joseon Dynasty. Before reaching your hotel for the evening, you'll pass by the Soesokkak Estuary, the mouth of the Hyodoncheon stream. As the fresh water meets the ocean, it broadens into wide, slow flowing river. ‘Soe; means an ox, ‘so’ means a ‘pool of water’ and ‘Kkak means ‘the end’. Soesokkak Estuary is lined with cliffs of curious lava formations, which are overhung with pine trees. Here the water takes on the deep blue of the ocean, and the scenery is very picturesque.Day 7 : Pyeoseon - Seongsan - U-do Island - Seongsan, 26 miles (42 km)
In the morning, you'll bike from your accommodation to Seongsan Harbor, where you'll catch a ferry to Udo Island. The island was named "Udo" or "Cow Island" as its contours look like a cow lying down on the ground. Udo Island is legendary for its breath-taking white sand beach, water that transforms into vivid shades of turquoise, emerald green, and aquamarine blue as the water as the water becomes shallower around coral reefs. It also offers gorgeous weather in all year round. After a ferry back to Jeju, you'll have an opportunity to hike Seongsan Ilchulbong Peak, the top of which sits a huge crater with the 99 sharp rocks surrounding it, reminiscent of a crown.Day 8 : Seongsan - Hamdeok Day, 32 miles (52 km)
Today you will explore more of stunning Jeju island, such as the Manjanggul Cave (만장굴). This cave is one of the finest lava tunnels in the world, and is a designated natural monument. There are a variety of interesting structures inside including 70cm lava stalagmites. Today's meals are especially delicious, from bibimbap at lunch, a mixed rice bowl, to a traditional black pork dish for dinner.Day 9 : Departure
