Overview
We have biked and explored many destinations outside our own borders, but close to home, here in the USA, we have exceptional bike and adventure destinations as well.
On this guided bike tour in Maine, you cycle the dramatic coast of quintessential New England through fishing villages, famous towns, and breathtaking coastal vistas. Featured as well is the crown jewel of the Atlantic Coast, Acadia National Park.
Though not a large state geographically, this New England gem is huge in nature...3,166 islands, 542 acres of state and national parks, 32,000 miles of rivers and streams, 6,000 lakes and ponds, moose on land, whales in the sea, and the skies graced with black-capped chickadees. Purple sandpipers and puffins perch on the crags of the rocky and wild coast.
You will be accommodated in the quaint village of Bar Harbor on Mount Desert Island, the gateway to Acadia National Park.
Highlights

Local Travel
If you are flying into Boston Logan, there is a very good bus service from Boston to Portland. The meeting location for the group is Ocean Gateway Visitors center on the Portland waterfront. If arriving directly to Portland, taxis are readily available at Portland International Jetport. The Greater Portland Transit District Metro provides bus service. Route #5 travels to and from the Portland Jetport into downtown Portland.
