The captain will find the best route day to day and discuss the options with the guests. It is important to note that there may be adjustments to departure times, time spent on the water, and even the order of the program. Flexibility is key!
Day 1: Copenhagen
Begin to board the ship and check in at 5:30 pm at which time you will be warmly welcomed aboard by the crew. You’ll find the ship moored near the town center and ‘The Little Mermaid’ statue. After stowing luggage in your cabin, join the skipper and tour leader for a welcome drink, followed by dinner. Get trip details and safety info during the evening briefing. Bicycles will be distributed this evening or the following morning.Day 2: Copenhagen - Humlebaek - Helsingør, 30 mi. (48 km)
Embark on a scenic bike tour from your ship, cycling past Copenhagen’s iconic Little Mermaid and Kastellet along serene bike paths. Your route will take you through charming villages, lush forests, and picturesque landscapes along the Øresund Strait. You might even spot your ship from the shore. Approximately 10 kilometers before reaching Helsingør, don't miss a visit to the Louisiana Museum of Modern Art. Continue your journey to Helsingør (Elsinore), where you'll find the historic city center dominated by the magnificent Kronborg Castle—famously linked to Shakespeare's Hamlet. Explore the beautifully restored old harbor buildings, which now host a bustling street food market and a fascinating nautical museum, among other attractions.Day 3: Helsingør - Hornbaek - Esrum - Helsingør, 18 or 28 mi. (28 or 45 km)
After breakfast, start your bike ride along the picturesque coast of the "Danish Riviera," renowned for its expansive sandy beaches, heading towards the quaint harbor of Hornbæk. From there, cycle inland through gently rolling hills to Esrum and visit the historic medieval monastery by Lake Esrum. Continue your journey through idyllic wheat fields and past charming castles and country estates as you make your way back to Helsingør. Enjoy a thrilling descent into the historic city center of Helsingør, giving you ample time to explore in the afternoon. After dinner, the ship will cross the narrow strait to dock in Helsingborg on the Swedish coast. Helsingborg is celebrated not only for its historical charm but also as one of Europe's most innovative cities. After dinner, take a leisurely stroll to experience the city's vibrant atmosphere.
Day 4: Helsingborg - Landskrona | Ferry to Ven | Ven roundtour, 6.5 mi (10 km)
Set off on your bike along the scenic coast of Skåne County (Scania) towards the historic town of Landskrona. Enjoy views of charming beaches and the quaint former fishing village of Borstahusen with its traditional fishermen’s cottages. Landskrona’s 16th-century citadel is remarkably well-preserved and worth a visit. Shortly after noon, board the ferry to the island of Ven, a picturesque gem in the Øresund measuring just 7.5 km² (2.9 mi²) with a population of under 400. Explore the island by bike, visiting local artists, goldsmiths, cafes, a whiskey distillery, and the 16th-century observatory of famed astronomer, Tycho Brahe. Since the island's port is too small for the ship, the crew will transport you by dinghy in the late afternoon, and the ship will anchor off the coast for the night.Day 5: Sailing from Ven to Køge or Rødvig
Today, your bikes will stay on board as you set sail from Ven, traveling beneath the Øresund Bridge to the southern coast of Zealand. Enjoy the scenic sailing experience on the deck of the grand sailing ship, weather permitting. Your destination could be Køge or, depending on conditions, a bit further to Rødvig. In Køge, the ship will dock in the harbor, while in Rødvig, it will anchor for the night. En route, you'll pass the striking white limestone cliffs of Stevns Klint, reminiscent of the cliffs at Dover or on the German island of Rügen. This region, known for its sparse population, is a designated “dark sky area,” offering stunning views of the starry sky on clear nights—once crucial for maritime navigation.Day 6: Rødvig - Stevns Klint - Køge, 19 mi. (30 km.) or roundtour, Køge - Stevns Klint - Køge, 36 mi.(58 km / 36 mi.), sailing Køge to Malmö
Today's cycling tour begins in Rødvig. You will be transferred from the ship to Rødvig by dinghy. From there, cycle to the UNESCO World Heritage site of Stevns Klint for a brief stop to explore the impressive chalk cliffs, visit the town of Højerup, and see the historic cliff church. Continue your ride to Køge, where you can explore the charming historic center of this medieval town.If your tour starts in Køge, you'll have a longer route that includes a visit to the chalk cliffs of Stevns Klint before returning to Køge. The ship will then pick you up in Køge for an evening sailing trip to Malmö, where you can enjoy dinner on board.
Day 7: Malmö, city outskirts roundtour 16 mi. (26 km) | Malmö - Lund - Lomma - Malmö, 31 mi. (49 km)
Today’s half-day tour offers a quick yet captivating exploration of Malmö, taking you through the city center and its outskirts, where you’ll enjoy a spectacular view of the Øresund Bridge and the cityscape. You’ll have the afternoon free to explore Malmö at your own pace. For a more extensive experience, the full-day tour guides you along tranquil country roads to the vibrant university city of Lund, one of Sweden's oldest cities with over a millennium of history. Explore Lund’s charming city center and visit the impressive 12th-century cathedral. On your return to the ship, cycle along the picturesque coast, where you can indulge in some ice cream or take a refreshing dip in the sea. In the evening, you’ll savor a farewell dinner hosted by the captain.Day 8: Departure from Malmö
