Baltic Sea

Our group of 11 cyclists took this tour in May 2009. We have taken some 8 European tours, and somehow this was the most memorable. It has s great combination of scdenery and historic sites. Our weather was perfect. Flying in and out of Berlin is handy. Hennie has cycled this route herself, so she knows it well! Pack and Pedal's service is, as usual, excellent.

Venice to Florence - old version
Italy

Our group loved the Venice-Florence trip. Extra days at venice beforehand and Florence afterwards is very worthwhile. And having reservations made for us was very handy. The ride downhill from Fisole into Florence is one of the most spctacular 7 miles in Europe! As usual, Pack and Pedal really took care of us.

West Flanders & Bruges
Belgium

The trip we did was a self-guided tour of West Flanders & Brugge, and I can honestly say it was the best trip of my life! I can't recommend travel through Tripsite.com enough. Using them, we experienced the highest level of professionalism & security, in addition to a fantastic cycling adventure. We're definitely planning on another self-guided tour, the only problem we're having is agreeing on which one to take first! Thank you, Carla, Hennie & everyone at tripsite for giving us an experience we will never forget!

Breisgau & Alsace Wine Road

Overall a very enjoyable tour staying at good hotels and the bikes while a little heavy did the job well. The one area that needs improvement was the directions. For the first couple of days we were given detailed instructions in English but subsequently we were instructed to follow the route in the map book which was in German! As a consequence we had to work out our own route which we did using a large scale map and google maps. Also the suggestion was that we could have taken two possible routes on the first ride day but we only given instructions for one. Still a most enjoyable ride, fantastic scenary the weather was perfect.

Did Castles of the Loire with another couple. No complaints. Bikes were great. Meals were great. Accommodations were great. Weather was great (didn't rain at all !). Only glitch was the lack of an in-house meal on the monday (Oct 17) at Auberge Du Centre in Chitenay.

Around the IJsselmeer
Netherlands

We biked around the IJsselmeer in September. We made the mistake of booking our airline tickets prior to the bike tour. As a result, some hotels that were normally used for this trip were already booked. Staff did a superb job working around our schedule, changing things up just a bit, to make this happen for us. I really felt like we got top notch service. Very much enjoyed the route and all the scenery. Along the lake can be quite windy! Lodging was all very nice and the Dutch are very friendly people. I think we ate apple cake and had coffee every afternoon! I would definitely recommend Tripsite and especially the Netherlands.

This was one of the most beautiful bike trips we have experienced. Wonderful coastal areas and the greenway made for variety. Lodgings were very nice as well. Lots of old Roman and even older sites.

Brussels to Bruges
Belgium

We loved our trip. It was our first visit to Belgium and we felt like we saw most of the country ... Brussels, Leuven, Ghent, Antwerp, Bruges and more. Plus, you really get to see a place up close when you do it by bike.

The bike paths were excellent ... many of them were along rivers or canals. The directions were usually easy to follow and, on occasion, when they weren't, that just added to the adventure.

There is so much to do in Brussels, we stayed a couple of extra days. Bruges is so charming, we spent a little extra time there, too. Plus, we were fortunate to be in both Ghent and Bruges during festivals.

We look forward to other trips in the future.

German Wine Route

Simply put this was the best cycling adventure I have ever enjoyed, thanks to the beautiful scenery, challenging and rewarding routes, delightful accomodations, an excellent and well equipped bike, and a very conscientious tour operator. I have not yet selected the tour I will do this summer, but even with all the places I want to explore, I am seriously considering doing this tour again - it was that good!

Holland in a Nutshell - a Tulip Tour
Netherlands

This was the first time we had done a place to place cycling holiday and we were so pleased with it all that we are looking to book another this year. Tripsite could not have been more helpful and were very pateint with all the questions we asked before we booked. The tour was fantastic with everything going to plan. The accomodation was lovely. We started this tour in Hilversum as Oudewater was fully booked due to the late booking of this holiday. However the tour was adapted and cycle routes provided for this modified tour. Excellent value for money and what a wonderful, helpful team. A big thank you to you all.

Salzburg to Vienna
Austria

My wife and I did this self-guided tour in September of 2009. We flew into Vienna and took the train to Saltsburg to start our trip. The extra days that we booked in Saltsburg were marvelous.

The accomodations along the way were always excellent. Good variety and very good service. Austria is clean, safe and the Danube Cycle Path is a real gem. If you love travelling by bike you really must do the Danube at least once.

The nice folks at Tripsite could not have been more pleasant to deal with. Give them a try for your next cycling adventure.

Dali’s Country Road Bike Tour
Spain

My boyfriend and I booked this trip in late May 2011. The bikes the shop rents are incredible. We loved it and are planning on doing another trip this year. The weather was perfect, not too hot, not too cold. The couple that runs the bike shop is wonderful. I would also recommend the luxury accommodations, for only a little extra, it is definitely worth it. The rides were very good and there were definitely some hills, but it was a great experience.

Romantic Road & the Bavarian Lakes
Germany

We went on this self guided tour Summer of 2010 and had an amazing time! The scenery is beautiful every miles of the way. You go through parks, forests, quaint Bavarian towns, and past some beautiful lakes. The accommodations were phenomenal. We were very satisfied with the quality and locations of the Inns. If we had to name our favorite part of this trip, it would be riding towards the Alps on our way to fussen. Definitely take a tour of the Neuschwanstein castle! The terrain on this trip is a nice challenge for any level biker.

We rode this trip in September 2011. Wonderful tours of historic cities along the way. Ferry boat ride on Lake Garda was spectacular. Hotels were fine, especially warm sulphur springs in Abano Terme. Ride was scenic and well guided. Venice is worth an extra night or two.

Loire Valley - Orléans to Tours
France

I really enjoyed my experience in the Loire Valley thanks to the great service Carla, Hennie, and Mary provided. The tour went smoothly, the bicycle was comfortable, the maps were detailed and the whole experience was exactly as it was described here in the website. I chose the 2-3* option and the hotels were clean and nice (for the most part), and the restaurants (all but one) were absolutely delicious!! I would highly recommend tripsite to anyone considering cycling through Loire, and I intend to use them again on my next trip in Europe--BON VOYAGE!

Bordeaux Wine Country
France

Great trip. Beautiful countryside, the route keeps you on small back roads and paths so you see very little traffic for most of the trip, just lots of grape harvesting (if you go in the fall). Hotels and food were good, and everything worked perfectly. I tailored the trip to suit my needs and tripsite was very accomodating. Highly recommended.

Alpine Panoramic Route
Switzerland

What a trip! My wife and I (both avid cyclists) biked the Alpine Panoramic Trail from Rorschach to Thun in July 2011. The hills were difficult, but the views were worth the effort. The entire route is well marked and the people at Swiss Trails (the tour operator) were very helpful. The seatpost on my wife's bike was too long, so they send someone with a saw to shorten it for her. They also gave me a second route guide in German (which I speak) to replace the route guide in French (which I do not speak). I recommend the top class touring bikes for this trip. The disc brakes were great on the long downhills. We opted for the "standard" accommodations, which were very nice. We had lake or mountain views from our rooms each night.

Heidelberg to Strasbourg
France, Germany

I did this trip in early July 2011 with six friends and had a fantastic time. The routes were very, very good - just the right length, and through some wonderful, very scenic countryside. The journey included miles and miles of vineyards, several forests, and some long stretches along the Rhine. The towns we stayed in were easy and fun to explore, and the hotels were all excellent. All in all the trip went far beyond my expectations and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to others.

Cheers,

Lorne

This was a very interesting tour. Two cities have UNESCO World Heritage sites, and one day, riding along the coast, had one of the most stunning rides we have ever been on. (This was our 16th bike trip.)

Around the IJsselmeer
Netherlands

My 15 year old son and I biked around the IJsselmeer in April. We had a fantastic time. The Netherlands is gorgeous then and the weather was virtually perfect. We saw incredible water fowl, many sweet little lambs, gorgeous wisteria climbing up quaint old houses everywhere and beautiful fields of tulips and wildflowers. We stayed at very nice places, in historic, wonderfully preserved towns. We rented e-bikes, as I was concerned that, otherwise, some of the distances might be too much for my son. This was a great choice, even for me as some days the headwinds were strong, but when we used the bikes with the power off, they were just fantastic that way also.

I will not go on and on as I'm sure my son, will want to post a comment and give you more details from his perspective. I will tell you though that approximately every half hour, while we were biking, he shouted out "I love Holland!" and I completely agreed.

Dali’s Country Road Bike Tour
Spain

My girlfriend and I rode the Dali Country Road bike trip May15-22, 2011. It was a perfect time of year to do so, and everything worked out very well. The bike shop in Girona is run by a great couple, and the bikes they rented us were excellent. As it wasa a self-guided tour, directions are important, and they were quite precise. I would recommend the luxury accommodations - the Historic Hotel in Girona is a highlight on all it's own! You ride nice coastal scenery, hit some nice beaches, and encounter very pleasant people. My girlfriend was nervous about the road biking aspect, but she soon loved it. I would class the riding as intermediate - no real killer hills - lots of small villages to explore. Plenty of riding and things to do to make this a wonderful vacation (except on vineyards). And the food and wine of Spain is fantastic. Enjoy!

Venice to Florence - old version
Italy

Hennie, Carla and Mary,

We just got back from our annual P&P European trip..This year it was Venice to Florence and I must say it was the best one we've had..P&P did their normal excellent job setting up the trip..Everything was great: the route, the hotels and the bike provisioner-Eurobike..The scenery was awesome, the stage lengths were just right to allow viewing the beautiful Italian countryside, sightseeing and still arrive in the next city ready to enjoy the sights and good food..

I cannot say enough about Eurobike and their maps, route discripions and route markings..The markings almost totally eliminated the concern of missing a turn..The markings took us from one hotel to the next..We could have done the ride without maps!!

Anyway, thanks for another great job and, as always, we are eagerly looking forward to next year's European trip with Pack and Pedal..(Our seventh one, I think.)

Best regards,

Jim
