Gea

Founder | Photo Manager

Gea has been with Tripsite from the beginning - fondly remembering the days when she translated the company’s first brochures from Dutch into English. Born in the Netherlands, she has also lived in Pennsylvania, California, China (Shanghai) and currently in Maryland with her husband and 4 children.

While obtaining a BS degree from Penn State University, she studied abroad in Maastricht, the Netherlands and hopped on a train, traveling throughout Europe most every weekend. Different languages, cultures and ways of living have always fascinated her. Just because you were born in a certain place doesn’t necessarily mean you belong there. And what greater way to explore and intimately learn a new culture than via the saddle of a bicycle. Walking/hiking is a favorite past-time, but tends not to cover much distance. Cars cover much distance in the most impersonal manner. Cycling is just right. Fast or slow, personal or impersonal, it can be whatever you want it to be. So long as we get off the beaten path and into the farmers’ fields and the locals’ little nooks and crannies, and those tiny little shops and restaurants only the townsfolk know.

Within Tripsite, she works behind the scenes in the photo department - trying to capture the essence of a tour through images, and leaving one feeling not that one wants to go there, but one needs to go there!

Hobbies: studying the Word, cycling, hiking, skiing, and of course, managing 4 energetic, constantly curious kids. :-)
